Did you know that overwatering is the primary cause of Orchid demise? Get some more tips from our care guide below Light: Orchids prefer bright, indirect light. Avoid placing them in direct sunlight this can scorch the leaves.
Water: Water once a week. Be careful not to over-water, which can lead to root rot. Place a few ice cubes on top of the soil (depending on pot size). This will give a slow release of water.
Humidity: Orchids thrive in high humidity environments. You can increase humidity levels by placing a tray of water near the plant, misting the leaves, or using a humidifier.
Soil: Orchids grow best in well-draining, bark-based potting mix. Be sure to use a pot with holes to allow for proper drainage.
Fertilizer: Feed your orchid once a month with a balanced, water-soluble fertilizer.
Repotting: Repot your orchid every 2-3 years, or when the roots become crowded in the pot. When your Orchid is finished flowering, cut the stems back to the second node to promote new growth. Also known as the Calla Lily, these beautiful plants produce elegant, trumpet-shaped blooms in shades of white, yellow, orange, pink, and purple. Here's a guide on how to care for your Zantedeschia: Light: Bright, indirect light. Although they can grow in direct sun, if grown in too much sun, the leaves may wilt, and the blooms may fade. Water: Keep soil consistently moist but not soaking in water. Water the plant when the top inch of soil is dry, being careful not to let the soil dry out completely. Water on the soil, not the plant, direct water will damage leaves and flowers. Soil: Well-drained, fertile soil. Fertilizer: Every 2 months with a balanced, water-soluble fertilizer, following the manufacturer's instructions. Repotting: Every 2-3 years, or when the bulbs become crowded in the pot. These plants are great for beginners because they are simple to care for. The more light you give your plant in your home, the better it will grow, just don’t leave in direct heat and sun for too long, it will burn the leaves. When your Peace Lilly is thirsty, it will start to droop and recover quickly when watered. Keep your plant watered twice a week and feed with a liquid fertilizer every couple of months to keep it healthy. Pull out dead flowers to promote new growth and trim off dead leaves. Their common name is Flamingo Lilly. Anthuriums are tropical climbers that grow well in partial sun or indirect light. They blossom all year round, slowing down a bit in winter. Remove dead flowers to promote new growth. Keep the pot in a tray with stones or gravel for the excess water to drain and help keep humidity around the plant. Curcuma brightens up a Sunny Room or Patio. You can grow this plant in a pot and in your garden. Fresh cut Curcuma flowers look wonderful in a vase too. Curcuma is a Tropical plant with ranges of pink or purple flowers. Its common name is Siam Tulip. Water twice a week and feed with liquid fertilizer every two weeks. Your Curcuma will grow 2-5 new flowers, twist and pull out flowers when they are done. Curcuma go dormant in winter and sprout again when season comes back around. You can leave the bulb in a pot or plant them outdoors in full sun. Did you know? Curcuma has healing properties and is used in Eastern Medicine as a herb. In December 2022, LVG replaced approximately 650 light bulbs in their Greenhouses and Distribution centre. This was done to further reduce their energy consumption while growing quality indoor plants. 45W globes were replaced with 10W LED lights, these are used for day extension in the greenhouses. In the distribution centre, 105W High Bay down lights were replaced with 2*24W LED tubes, creating light to work while using less energy. #LEDlighting #savingenergy #indoorplants #quality
