3 of the best indoor plants to invest in this January

Now that 2020 is a thing of the past, we’re sure you will agree that a new perspective is in order. So, in the spirit of starting afresh, let’s begin the year by turning over a new leaf in the home. 1. Ficus lyrata

A stately house plant sought out by homeowners and office decorators, the Ficus lyrata or Fiddle Leaf Fig is a natural focal point, showcasing an impressive display of large, violin-shaped leaves. The plant is native to tropical parts of Africa, so grows best in warm, humid climates. It looks particularly stately when displayed in baskets and decorative planters.

Care tips:

If you are interested in purchasing the famous Ficus lyrata for your living space, take a look at the care tips below:

  • Place the plant in an area with plenty of indirect, bright light.
  • Position the plant in an area that is out of the way of cold draughts.
  • Water the plant when the soil feels dry at the top, but be careful not to overwater.
  • Mist the leaves every so often.
  • During the growing season, fertilise the plant with a weak solution about once per month.

2. Monstera adansonii

Next up we have the Monstera adansonii, a relative of the Swiss Cheese Plant (Monstera deliciosa). This attractive vining plant is easy to care for, provided it is grown in a moist environment. Its leaves appear to have little holes in them, adding to the visual appeal. If you’re investing in the Monstera adansonii, consider planting it in a hanging basket – the effect is just lovely.
